A Reminder: Now is the Time to Meditate!

Inhale a nice, clean, deep breath and let it out slowly.

We are living in historic times that test your body, mind and spirit in ways you may not be familiar with. When the mind is preoccupied with something intense (like the issues of this upcoming election, not to mention the world!), that mindset will also wreak havoc on the physical body.  Ultimately, that very physical dysfunction will flow over into your spirit and dampen it to a deeply emotional extent.  If the spirit is depressed, then the issues that plague the body and mind will not experience healing.

Between now and the end of 2024, it would be my suggestion to up your meditation times to happen more frequently.  The more you meditate, the more you will respond (with reason) than to react (with emotion).

I know I have said it many times in many articles, blogs and interviews, but it is important enough to repeat.  If you have never meditated before, start now.  If you are a meditator, then continue the practice and do so more often.  But DO give yourself at least 10 minutes at the opening and 10 minutes at the closing of your day, to assure yourself of positive energy to flow through you. It will prove to be both a barrier and a guide you navigate away from negativity, whether that is online in social media, or in person.

A BRIEF MEDITATION:

  1. Find a comfortable spot to sit quietly and undisturbed.

  2. Set an gentle-sounding alarm for 10 minutes.

  3. Slowly breathe deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth, so that you blow out your stress.

  4. Repeat this slowly through the sessions, and throughout the day.

Meditation can act as a shield.  It can take the edge off undesirable emotions, keeping them in check so that your focus is more on the positive. Now, more than ever, it can prove to be a valuable tool in our personal metaphysical toolbox.

So…as you head to the polls, read the news, or communicate on social media, remember to:

Take a slow deep breath….and exhale!

Namaste

God bless

Linda
