It Is What It...Isn't

I will be brief in this blog. The message is more important than the length of the content and I want to make sure that the message is received.

My massage therapist came to do a session for me and told me about how she was going to have some surgery on one of her knees. I asked how she was feeling and she answered: “It is what it is.”

“So, then there’s no hope?” I asked, alarmed.

She seemed shocked. “Yes, there’s hope! I am having the surgery.”

I nodded. “I understand, but you said “It is what it is,” and that is a statement that translates to the universe that there is no hope, no reason to try to heal because it is not something that will change.

She widened her eyes and said, “I never thought of it that way before!”

The way we use words is vitally important to our well-being. We want to convey that we are hopeful and that we can rise above. So, I suggested to her that the next time she feels the need to say that expression, to change it up to: “Moving right along!”

The expression, “Moving right along,” conveys a positive outlook that wants to connect with a positive result through correct action. I am personally going to refrain from falling back on “it is what it is,” and recognize it as the negative, hopeless statement the energy of those words release.

Personal Note: It is important to “put out” to the universe what you want, not what you don’t want. That connects you with the Law of Attraction which in turn creates the action necessary for positive outcomes. I want to attract the best there is to offer. Moving right along…
